Audacy is doubling down on one of its most experienced programming voices in Wisconsin, promoting Brett Andrews to Brand Manager of Hot AC “99.1 The Mix” WMYX Milwaukee while further aligning operations between its Milwaukee and Madison clusters.
The move expands Andrews’ growing influence inside the company just months after he joined Audacy following a long programming run with iHeartMedia. Andrews had already been serving as Assistant Brand Manager and afternoon personality at WMYX, while also overseeing Hot AC “Mix 105.1” WMHX Madison and assisting with programming duties at “103.7 Kiss-FM” WXSS Milwaukee.
Under the new structure, Andrews keeps all of those responsibilities while also shifting his Madison on-air role from mornings on Classic Hits “94.9 WOLX” to afternoons on WMHX. The move creates a nearly mirrored weekday lineup between Milwaukee’s WMYX and Madison’s WMHX, giving Audacy a tighter, more streamlined Hot AC presentation across two of Wisconsin’s largest radio markets.
Andrews’ radio résumé stretches across multiple major markets and some of the country’s best-known Top 40 brands. Before arriving at Audacy, he spent years in leadership roles with iHeartMedia, including oversight of stations in Milwaukee and Madison. Earlier career stops included Portland, St. Louis, Las Vegas, Wichita and Lincoln, with programming and on-air experience spanning CHR, Rhythmic CHR and Classic Hits formats.
For longtime radio observers, the move feels significant for another reason: Audacy continues leaning heavily on proven multi-market operators who can wear several hats at once — programming, branding, digital strategy and on-air execution — all while maintaining consistent sound and culture across clusters.
Andrews fits that modern radio mold almost perfectly.
The promotion also reinforces how competitive the Hot AC battlefield remains in 2026. While some music formats continue facing staffing reductions and automation pressures, Hot AC stations that maintain strong local personalities, lifestyle connection and female audience loyalty are still viewed as valuable pieces of cluster strategy.
Inside Wisconsin radio circles, Andrews is already well known. He previously programmed stations including WRIT Milwaukee, WRNW Milwaukee, WZEE Madison and several heritage CHR brands during his iHeart years. He also spent earlier parts of his career at stations in Wichita, Las Vegas and Portland, building a reputation as both a programmer and air talent capable of balancing ratings strategy with personality-driven execution.
Audacy executives praised Andrews’ versatility and leadership in the company announcement, signaling strong confidence in his ability to guide both brands moving forward.
And honestly, this feels like one of those “keep an eye on this” radio stories.
Because in an era where companies continue consolidating operations, the people who survive — and rise — are usually the ones capable of doing more than one thing well.
Brett Andrews appears to be one of them.
