Karen Clark Expands Role at Urban One Raleigh as Marketing Director

Urban One Raleigh has elevated longtime media personality Karen Clark to Marketing Director, adding oversight of marketing strategy, promotions, experiential campaigns, community engagement, and audience development for Urban AC simulcast WFXC/WFXK “Foxy 107.1/104.3,” Urban WQOK “K97.5,” and Urban Gospel WNNL “The Light 103.9.”

Clark will continue hosting middays on Foxy 107.1/104.3 while also maintaining her role as a biweekly trending topics contributor for ABC11 in Raleigh.

Before returning to radio full-time, Clark built an extensive background in artist promotion with Columbia Records and Capitol Records, working with major artists including Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and Will Smith. She later co-founded the nationally recognized wedding and event planning company “Something Borrowed, Something Blue.”

In an official company release, Urban One Raleigh General Manager Mitch Galvin said, “Karen Clark’s talent goes well beyond just being on the air. She is a vastly experienced marketer who understands the intricacies of radio in all capacities.” Galvin added that Clark’s “vision toward the future and her passion for the radio industry” made her the right fit for the expanded role.

Clark also reflected on the new position in the company announcement, stating, “Radio has always been about connection.” She added that she looks forward to helping create new opportunities for the stations to engage audiences, support community partnerships, and deliver meaningful experiences throughout the Triangle.

Clark remains one of the Triangle’s most recognizable media personalities, blending radio, television, community engagement, and event marketing into a career that has stretched across multiple areas of entertainment and media.
