One of sports radio’s most recognizable names is returning to familiar territory.
ESPN Radio has unveiled a revamped weekday schedule that features the return of Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr. to the national network. Beginning Monday, August 3, the father-and-son duo will take over the 10 a.m. to noon Eastern time slot, marking a reunion with the company where both built much of their broadcasting careers.
Mike Golic spent more than two decades as one of ESPN Radio’s signature personalities following an NFL career as a defensive tackle. Over the years, he became a fixture on the network through successful partnerships with Tony Bruno, Mike Greenberg, and later Trey Wingo, helping define the sound of national sports radio for an entire generation of listeners. After leaving ESPN in 2020, he and his son continued broadcasting together with VSiN.
Mike Golic Jr., a former professional football player with experience in both the NFL and CFL, also developed his broadcasting career at ESPN. During his previous run with the network, he hosted multiple national programs before departing in 2022. Their return reunites one of sports radio’s best-known family duos under the ESPN banner.
The programming overhaul includes additional changes across the weekday schedule. Matt Jones and Myron Medcalf, who have worked together on ESPN Radio’s Sunday lineup since 2018, will move into weekdays from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern.
Those additions shift the remainder of the afternoon and evening schedule as well. Freddie Coleman and Harry Douglas will now air from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Eastern, while Amber Wilson and Ian Fitzsimmons will continue the lineup from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern.
The updated schedule represents one of ESPN Radio’s most significant programming changes in recent years, combining familiar national personalities with established hosts as the network prepares for a new chapter heading into football season.
