Some of the most recognizable voices in Georgia broadcasting are about to receive one of the state’s highest honors.
Friends of Georgia Radio has unveiled its 2026 Hall of Fame class, celebrating five broadcasters whose careers have left an undeniable mark on listeners across the Peach State. This year’s honorees are Dallas McCade of New Country 101.5/WKHX and Westwood One, Atlanta radio icon Greg Street of V-103, longtime University of Georgia football broadcaster Loran Smith, WCON morning personality Joel Williams, and former 95.5 WSB news anchor Marcy Williams. They will officially be inducted during the Hall of Fame celebration on Saturday, August 22, at City Springs in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Every great radio market is built on personalities who become part of the daily routine of their communities. Whether waking listeners up before sunrise, delivering trusted news during major events, providing the soundtrack to an afternoon drive, or becoming the voice of generations of college football fans, these five broadcasters helped define what local broadcasting is meant to be.
Hall of Fame recognition isn’t simply about longevity. It’s about earning the respect of listeners, colleagues, and the communities served over years—and in many cases, decades—behind the microphone. Georgia’s 2026 class represents excellence across country, urban, news, sports, and community radio, reminding all of us that great broadcasting is still built on authentic connections with real people.
Congratulations to Dallas McCade, Greg Street, Loran Smith, Joel Williams, and Marcy Williams on an honor that reflects careers spent informing, entertaining, and inspiring audiences throughout Georgia.
