Three decades. Thousands of interviews. Hundreds of thousands of songs. Countless unforgettable moments.
This Fourth of July weekend, HardDrive Radio celebrates an incredible milestone as the nationally syndicated rock program reaches its 30th anniversary, marking three decades as one of the longest-running and most influential shows in rock radio.
First heard during the July 4 holiday weekend of 1996, the program has become a weekend tradition for generations of rock fans, delivering exclusive artist interviews, breaking new music, and showcasing some of the biggest names in hard rock and heavy metal.
To commemorate the occasion, this weekend’s special edition will revisit memorable moments from the show’s extensive archives. Listeners can expect appearances from legendary artists including Ozzy Osbourne, Lars Ulrich of Metallica, Chester Bennington of Linkin Park, David Draiman of Disturbed, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Jonathan Davis of KoRn, and Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch.
Hosted by Lou Brutus since the program’s launch, HardDrive Radio has become a fixture for rock audiences across North America. Over the past 30 years, Brutus has spent tens of thousands of hours behind the microphone, introducing new music, interviewing the genre’s biggest stars, and connecting fans with the artists who have shaped modern rock.
The anniversary celebration also includes a look back at the music itself. HardDrive has assembled a special collection highlighting one standout rock song from each of the past 30 years, creating a musical timeline that reflects the evolution of the format from the mid-1990s through today.
Very few syndicated programs remain on the air long enough to celebrate three decades, making this anniversary a remarkable achievement for everyone involved. In an industry that never stops evolving, HardDrive Radio has continued to find new audiences while remaining true to the music and the artists that built its reputation.
Congratulations to Lou Brutus, Randy Hawke, the entire HardDrive Radio team, and every affiliate that has helped keep one of rock radio’s most enduring brands on the air for the past 30 years.
