Every station has personalities who become part of its identity.
Sometimes, when one leaves, it feels bigger than a lineup change.
Carrie Danger has officially signed off from 107.3 Alternative Cleveland (WNWV), ending a run that dates back to the station’s launch as an Alternative outlet in 2022.
Her departure closes an important chapter for the independently owned Cleveland station, where she helped establish the sound, personality, and local connection that listeners have come to associate with the brand.
Carrie was among the original voices heard when WNWV reintroduced itself to Northeast Ohio as an Alternative station. She initially hosted nights before moving into afternoons in early 2024, becoming one of the station’s most recognizable personalities during its formative years.
Her radio career spans more than a decade, including several years at 95.3 WLKR in Norwalk, where she built a loyal following before eventually joining the Cleveland operation.
But perhaps the bigger story isn’t simply that Carrie Danger is leaving.
It’s what her departure says about local radio.
Independent broadcasters don’t often have the luxury of constantly rebuilding talent rosters like larger national companies. Every personality becomes a larger piece of the station’s identity, making departures especially meaningful for both listeners and staff. When someone has been there since day one, they’re more than an air talent—they become part of the station’s foundation.
That’s why this move resonates.
WNWV now faces one of radio’s biggest challenges: replacing a familiar voice while maintaining the chemistry and authenticity that helped define the station during its first several years as an Alternative brand.
For Carrie Danger, however, the sign-off is less about an ending and more about what’s next.
Broadcasting has always been a business built on new opportunities, and experienced personalities rarely stay off the air for long.
The microphone may have gone silent today.
Don’t expect it to stay that way forever.
