Some personalities don’t just grow their audience.
They grow their zip codes.
Audacy has expanded Scotty Kay’s on-air responsibilities once again, adding afternoons on 103.7 KSON in San Diego to his growing list of Country radio assignments.
The move gives Kay another major-market platform while he continues hosting afternoons on US 99 (WUSN) in Chicago and 102.9 The Wolf (KMNB) in Minneapolis. He’s also heard every Sunday across Audacy’s portfolio of Country stations nationwide, making him one of the company’s most familiar voices in the format.
It’s another example of how today’s successful personalities are connecting with listeners across multiple markets instead of just one.
Kay has been entertaining Chicago listeners on US 99 since 2019, but his broadcasting career stretches back much further. Many radio fans first came to know him as “Special K” during his years at 103.5 Kiss FM in Chicago, where he advanced into the role of Music Director while hosting nights. From there, he took his talents to morning drive in both Atlanta and Dallas, building a résumé that spans some of America’s largest radio markets before returning home to Chicago.
Now, San Diego becomes the latest stop on that journey.
For Audacy, the move highlights a continuing strategy of leveraging proven talent across multiple stations while maintaining strong local brands. For Scotty Kay, it’s another opportunity to connect with listeners in one of the country’s most competitive Country radio markets.
In today’s broadcast landscape, reaching one city is impressive.
Reaching several of America’s biggest markets at the same time?
That’s a different level altogether.
