After 16 years of building a deep connection with listeners in Idaho’s capital, Michelle Heart has officially wrapped her “physical run” in Boise and is now stepping into a new chapter in Louisville, joining 102.3 The Rose.
Spending that kind of time in one market means something. Heart wasn’t just on the air at 107.9 LITE-FM — she became part of daily life for thousands of listeners. That kind of consistency, that kind of trust, doesn’t come easy. And it doesn’t go unnoticed when it’s gone. Thank goodness for technology, as she can be in two places at once.
But moves like this are rarely about leaving. They’re about what’s pulling you forward.
Heart started in her new role last Monday, already getting her footing inside the building and learning the rhythm of a new city. While she’s officially on board, the plan is for her to hit the airwaves shortly after the Kentucky Derby, when Louisville listeners will get their first real taste of what she brings to the table. Listeners in Boise will continue to enjoy Michelle during her mid-day show and via her national show.
Louisville gains a pro who knows how to connect, how to grow a brand, and how to make a station feel like home.
On The Dial Editor Will Ward caught up with Michelle Heart and she said, “I’m incredibly grateful for the 16 years of connections I made in Boise and so proud of what we achieved at 107.9 LITE-FM. You can’t ignore when your gut is telling you it’s time to grow again and once I met the team in Louisville, I knew it was the right place to grow new roots. I’m very excited to get started and help The Rose blossom into a station this community loves.”
That’s not someone chasing a title. That’s someone following instinct — and experience has a way of validating those moves.
In a business that never really sits still, Heart’s longevity in Boise stands out. Sixteen years in one place means you’ve done more than just show up — you’ve mattered. Now, the opportunity is there to do it again in a completely new environment.
For 102.3 The Rose, this isn’t just another addition. It’s a signal. A signal that the station is looking ahead, investing in talent, and positioning itself to compete in a meaningful way.
Michelle Heart is already in Louisville. The microphone comes next.
