Another familiar name in Oklahoma radio is taking on a larger role.

Cumulus Media has elevated Jay Davis to Regional Vice President, adding oversight of the company’s Colorado Springs operations while continuing his leadership responsibilities in Oklahoma City.

The move marks another milestone in a career that has spanned nearly four decades with the company. Davis joined the Oklahoma City cluster in 1989 and steadily climbed the ranks, moving into sales leadership in the late 1990s before being named Vice President and Market Manager in 2015.

In his expanded position, Davis will now guide operations in Colorado Springs, succeeding longtime market leader Scott Jones.

The appointment places one of Cumulus’ most experienced executives in charge of two important markets. Davis has long been recognized for building strong client relationships, developing talent, and helping drive growth across Oklahoma City. Those same strengths are expected to play a key role as he begins working alongside the Colorado Springs team.

Colorado Springs remains an important market within the company’s portfolio, supported by an established staff and a collection of heritage brands that have maintained strong connections with listeners and advertisers alike.

For Davis, the opportunity represents a chance to build upon an already successful operation while helping position the market for continued growth in an increasingly competitive media environment.

As radio companies continue looking for proven leadership capable of navigating both traditional broadcasting and today’s evolving digital landscape, Davis’ promotion reflects the growing value of experienced operators who understand how to connect local audiences with local businesses while leading high-performing teams.

The move is effective immediately.
