One of Pittsburgh radio’s most accomplished programming leaders is moving on.
Mark Anderson has exited Audacy Pittsburgh, where he most recently served as Vice President of Programming for the market, Regional Vice President of Country Programming, and Brand Manager for Hot AC 100.7 Star, WAMO 107.3 and Y108. His departure brings to a close a tenure that lasted more than 15 years and helped shape the sound of several of the company’s most recognizable brands.
Anderson arrived in Pittsburgh in third quarter of 2010 and quickly became one of the market’s most influential programmers. During his time with the company, he oversaw multiple format brands while taking on increasing responsibilities at both the market and corporate levels. His leadership extended beyond Pittsburgh as he played a key role in Audacy’s country strategy across numerous markets.
Before joining Audacy, Anderson built an impressive resume that included programming and operational leadership positions in St. Louis, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh, Saginaw and Sault Ste. Marie. He also spent time with Audience Development Group, further expanding his experience in format strategy and audience growth.
Over the course of his career, Anderson became widely respected for his ability to build strong brands, develop talent and create meaningful connections with listeners. His stations earned recognition for both programming excellence and community service, while his work in the country format helped establish him as one of the industry’s most respected programming voices.
In a message shared following his departure, Anderson reflected on the accomplishments of the past decade and a half, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside talented teams and highlighting the many professional milestones achieved throughout his tenure.
His exit marks another significant leadership change within the radio industry as experienced programmers continue to evaluate new opportunities in an increasingly evolving media landscape.
For Pittsburgh radio, Anderson’s departure closes a chapter that included years of ratings battles, brand evolution, community engagement and industry recognition. For Anderson himself, it opens the door to whatever comes next in a career that has already left a lasting mark on multiple markets across the country.
Few programmers have influenced as many brands, formats and careers in Pittsburgh radio over the past decade and a half as Mark Anderson. His next destination remains unknown, but his impact on the industry is already well established.
