A familiar voice in the Pacific Northwest is making another move across the Portland dial.
After spending the past year hosting middays on 98.7 The Bull (KUPL), Jamie “JT” Tanchyk has transitioned to afternoons on Live 95.5 (KBFF), bringing one of Connoisseur Media’s most experienced programmers and personalities to the station’s weekday drive slot.
Tanchyk fills the afternoon opening following the departure of former Content Director Dylan Salisbury, while continuing to wear multiple hats within the company. In addition to his new afternoon shift on Live 95.5, he remains Music Director for KUPL in Portland and KGNC-FM in Amarillo, Texas. His voice also continues to be heard on 96.3 KLLL in Lubbock, Texas, and during late nights on 100.9 The Cat (WKLI-FM) in Albany, New York.
His career has taken him through some of the country’s most recognizable radio brands. Before joining KUPL in 2025, Tanchyk served as Brand Manager of Bella 105 (KRSK) while also hosting afternoons on 99.5 The Wolf (KWJJ) in Portland. Earlier stops included Seattle’s Hot 103.7 (KHTP), where he served as Assistant Program Director and midday host, along with an extensive run in New York’s Capital Region programming multiple stations across several formats.
What makes this move noteworthy isn’t simply another airshift change.
It highlights a continuing industry trend where experienced talent are increasingly balancing programming leadership with on-air responsibilities across multiple stations and even multiple markets. Tanchyk’s schedule now spans four states while maintaining programming duties and a daily on-air presence.
For Live 95.5, the addition brings a seasoned programmer with deep CHR experience into one of radio’s most competitive dayparts. For JT Tanchyk, it’s simply the next chapter in a career that continues to evolve across formats, markets, and brands.
