A familiar Spanish-language brand is making its return to the Dallas-Fort Worth dial. Univision has ended the dual-frequency Latino Mix simulcast on 107.1 KQBU-FM and 107.9 KDXX, with 107.1 preparing to relaunch as Amor 107.1, a Spanish Adult Contemporary outlet.
Listeners tuning to 107.1 over the weekend heard a continuous loop of Emmanuel Cortes’ “Amor” as the station transitioned under its new KAMV call letters ahead of Monday’s official launch. The Amor name previously occupied the frequency during the early 2000s and is returning as a recognizable brand for the market.
The move follows a modest ratings improvement for the Latino Mix simulcast, which posted gains in the June 2026 Nielsen Audio survey. Even so, 107.1 has long operated as a western rimshot signal, providing its strongest coverage across Fort Worth while leaving much of the eastern side of the Metroplex dependent on 107.9’s broader reach.
The format change gives Univision another opportunity to strengthen its Spanish-language portfolio in North Texas by reintroducing a brand with established market recognition while maintaining Latino Mix on 107.9 FM.
