Urban One’s reshaping of its Dallas-Fort Worth radio cluster is continuing, and much of the talent that listeners associated with Majic 94.5 has officially landed at its newest acquisition.
With The Rickey Smiley Morning Show now airing on 97.9 The Beat (KBFB), the remainder of the former Majic 94.5 (KZMJ) on-air lineup has transitioned to Smooth R&B 105.7 (KRNB), creating a blend of established personalities and nationally recognized syndicated programming.
The refreshed weekday schedule keeps The Steve Harvey Morning Show in mornings from 5 to 9 a.m. Former Majic 94.5 Program Director Queen Indy Bee follows in middays from 9 a.m. to noon, with Veda Loca taking over from noon to 3 p.m. The DL Hughley Show anchors afternoons from 3 to 7 p.m., while KG Smooth closes out the day with Love and R&B during evenings.
The lineup adjustment marks another significant step in Urban One’s integration of its newly acquired Dallas stations. Rather than starting from scratch, the company has retained many of the personalities already familiar to North Texas listeners while repositioning them on a different signal.
