Looking for Your Next Radio Job On The Dial Has a New Place to Help You Find It

If there’s one thing I’ve learned during more than thirty years in broadcasting, it’s that you never know where your next opportunity might come from. Sometimes it’s a phone call from an old friend, sometimes it’s a conversation at an industry gathering, and sometimes it’s a job opening you almost missed because you didn’t know it existed. That’s one of the reasons I’m excited to announce that On The Dial has officially launched a new Jobs section, giving broadcasters another place to discover career opportunities and giving radio companies a way to connect with the talented people who keep this industry moving.

And let’s face it, our business could use a little more of that.

Whether you’re an experienced Program Director looking for your next challenge, an on-air personality ready for a new market, a sales professional exploring opportunities, or someone hoping to break into broadcasting for the first time, we want On The Dial to become part of your job search.

We’re also opening the door to station owners, General Managers, Operations Managers, Program Directors, Human Resources departments, recruiters, and broadcast groups looking for qualified employees.

If you have an opening, send it to us. We want to help you get the word out.

That includes programming, on-air, news, production, engineering, sales, digital, management, promotions, and other opportunities throughout broadcasting and related media.

I’ve been on both sides of the hiring process. I’ve searched for the right position, interviewed candidates, built programming teams, and experienced the frustration of knowing that talented people and great opportunities sometimes miss each other simply because they never connect.

And after watching so many good broadcasters navigate layoffs, ownership changes, restructuring, and consolidation over the past several years, I believe our industry needs more places where people can find opportunities.

That’s what we’re trying to build.

Not another complicated process.

Not another obstacle between employers and prospective employees.

Just an additional resource where broadcasters can discover what’s available and companies can share their openings with people who understand this business.

For job seekers: Visit our new Jobs section and check back regularly as opportunities are added.

For employers: Send us your available positions, including the job title, market, company, responsibilities, qualifications, and instructions for applying. We’ll use that information to help potential candidates discover the opportunity.

And here’s a little advice from someone who’s been in this business for a while.

Don’t assume your next great employee is sitting in the market where your station operates. Some of the finest broadcasters I’ve worked with came from places I never would have considered until somebody made an introduction.

Likewise, if you’re looking for your next opportunity, don’t assume that the station or company you’ve always dreamed of working for is the only place where you can build a successful career.

Sometimes the opportunity that changes everything is the one you weren’t expecting.

As On The Dial continues growing, I want us to do more than report who’s moving where, which company purchased another cluster, or which personality just landed a new morning show.

I want us to help create the next round of those stories by connecting talented people with the companies looking for them.

Because behind every great radio station are people who were given an opportunity.

And behind every talented broadcaster looking for work is someone who deserves the chance to demonstrate what they can accomplish.

So if you’re hiring, let us know.

If you’re looking, take a look.

And if you know somebody searching for their next broadcasting position, send them our way.

Who knows? The next big career announcement we publish on On The Dial might just be yours.

Visit the new Jobs section at OnTheDial.net and select Jobs from the main menu. Employers can contact On The Dial to submit openings for consideration.
