Another Familiar Voice Signs Off At San Diego’s KOGO

Change continues to reshape one of Southern California’s best-known news/talk stations.

Veteran broadcaster Mark Larson has departed Newsradio 600 KOGO in San Diego, bringing another chapter to a close for a personality who has spent decades behind the microphone serving Southern California listeners.

At the time of his departure, Larson hosted the station’s 7 to 8 p.m. program after previously sharing the early evening lineup with Leland Conway.

Conway has also moved on from KOGO. He has accepted a new opportunity with 840 WHAS in Louisville, where he now hosts the station’s midday program, leaving KOGO with another prominent vacancy in its weekday lineup.

Larson’s career has made him one of the most recognizable names in San Diego talk radio, earning a loyal following through years of commentary on news, politics, and issues affecting the region. His latest exit marks another significant programming change for the heritage station as iHeartMedia continues evolving its news and talk brands across the country.

The departures of both Larson and Conway represent another notable transition for KOGO, a station that has long been a cornerstone of spoken-word radio in Southern California. While no long-term replacement plans have been announced, listeners will undoubtedly notice the absence of two familiar voices that helped shape the station’s evening programming.

As stations across the industry continue adjusting lineups to meet changing strategies and audience habits, KOGO now enters another period of transition—one that listeners throughout San Diego will be watching closely.
