On The Dial | Radio People and Programming

Two familiar voices from Fargo are packing their microphones and heading to the Twin Cities, and this is the kind of move that reminds us why radio remains a business built around people. Gabe Glidden and Angie Morales, the morning team at Radio FM Media’s Hot AC Big 98.7 KLTA, are making the jump to Hubbard Radio’s Hot AC KS 95 KSTP-FM in Minneapolis–St. Paul, where they’ll take over afternoons beginning December 28. It’s a significant move for the duo, bringing their partnership from the Fargo market to one of the Midwest’s most recognizable radio brands.

And let’s be honest. Moving from Fargo to Minneapolis in late December isn’t exactly escaping winter.

They’re just trading one snow shovel for another, probably more expensive one.

A Big Opportunity at KS 95

KS 95 has long been an established name in Twin Cities radio, and landing an afternoon position at a station with that kind of recognition represents an important opportunity for Glidden and Morales.

For Glidden, the move also means returning to his home state.

A Minnesota native, he previously worked on the air in Winona, Minnesota, and Waterloo, Iowa, before joining Big 98.7 in 2024.

Morales brings an extensive broadcasting background of her own.

Before arriving at KLTA in April 2025, she held morning radio positions at KPLZ-FM in Seattle and KCIX in Boise. She also worked with John Moug, now a morning host at Chicago’s WBBM-FM, on a syndicated program heard in markets including Hartford and New London, Connecticut; Burlington, Vermont; and Searcy, Arkansas.

Her résumé also includes KLUC in Las Vegas.

That’s a considerable amount of experience in different markets, formats, and competitive environments.

And now that experience is headed to Minneapolis.

Morning Chemistry Meets Afternoon Opportunity

One of the more interesting elements of this move is the transition from mornings to afternoons.

Morning shows and afternoon shows operate differently.

Mornings are about waking people up, helping them start the day, and occasionally convincing somebody that getting out of bed was actually a good idea.

Afternoons are another animal entirely.

Listeners are leaving work, picking up children, sitting in traffic, and trying to figure out what they’re going to feed everybody for dinner.

The personalities have to understand that rhythm.

But a successful partnership already has something valuable: chemistry.

And that’s what Hubbard is bringing to KS 95.

Rather than assembling two unfamiliar personalities and hoping they click, the company is adding an existing team with experience working together.

You can teach somebody the mechanics of a radio show. Genuine chemistry is a whole lot harder to manufacture.

A Reminder That Local Radio Talent Still Matters

I’ve said this before, and I’ll keep saying it as long as somebody gives me a microphone or a keyboard.

Radio personalities matter.

The music is important. The branding is important. The research is important.

But the human connection is what separates a radio station from another playlist on somebody’s phone.

Gabe and Angie now have an opportunity to bring their personalities to a larger audience and establish a new relationship with Twin Cities listeners.

And for Hubbard, this represents an investment in an established on-air partnership.

That’s encouraging news in an industry where too many announcements seem to involve eliminating positions instead of creating opportunities.

Congratulations to Gabe Glidden and Angie Morales on the move, and best wishes to the teams at KS 95 and Big 98.7 as they prepare for the transition.

December 28 will mark a new chapter for both personalities.

And Gabe, since you’re a Minnesota native, I’m assuming you already know the rules.

Keep a scraper in the car, don’t complain about the cold until at least February, and never underestimate the power of a great afternoon radio show.

Fargo helped build the partnership. Now Minneapolis gets to hear what Gabe and Angie can do with it.

At On The Dial, we love seeing talented broadcasters advance their careers while keeping the personal connections that make radio special. Congratulations to Gabe and Angie on their upcoming move to KS 95. Here’s to great chemistry, great radio, and a successful new chapter in the Twin Cities.
