Cumulus Media has made a key programming move on the West Coast, elevating Art Webb to lead its news-talk stations KABC Radio and KSFO Radio.
Webb steps into the role of Program Director after several years working behind the scenes in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where he has served as Assistant Program Director and Executive Producer since 2017. His promotion follows a recent leadership shift that saw Luis Segura move into an operations role at WMAL-FM.
Company leadership pointed to Webb’s long-standing involvement with KABC and his creative contributions as factors in the decision to expand his responsibilities across both California markets. The move reflects a broader trend of internal advancement as radio groups look to lean on experienced team members who understand their brands and audiences.
In a statement released by the company, Webb said he plans to build on the existing momentum at both stations, with an emphasis on content that resonates with listeners throughout the state. He also highlighted the strength of the talent lineups in Los Angeles and San Francisco as a foundation for continued growth.
Webb brings a varied background to the position. Prior to joining Cumulus, he spent more than a decade working in broadcast operations at Disneyland Resort and later held roles in podcasting and talk programming, including leadership and production responsibilities tied to The Tom Leykis Show and other content initiatives.
The appointment comes at a time when news-talk remains a cornerstone format for major market stations, even as the broader audio industry continues to evolve. By promoting from within, Cumulus is reinforcing stability at two of its most prominent properties while positioning its programming strategy for the next phase of competition.
