A key leadership transition is on the horizon for Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio as longtime media executive Lori Flowers has been named the organization’s next president.

Flowers will step into the role as president-elect before officially assuming leadership in 2027, continuing a succession plan designed to maintain continuity within one of the industry’s most influential advocacy groups. She succeeds Sheila Kirby, who will move into an advisory role following her term.

Currently serving in a senior integrated marketing capacity at Urban One, Flowers brings more than two decades of experience across sales, strategy and brand development. Her work spans both local and national platforms, including involvement with syndicated programming through Reach Media, positioning her as a leader with both operational and big-picture perspective.

Her appointment signals a continued focus on mentorship, leadership development and expanding opportunities for women across all facets of radio and audio. MIW has long been a pipeline for rising talent and established leaders alike, and Flowers’ background aligns closely with that mission — particularly in bridging programming, revenue and culture.

The transition comes at a time when the industry continues to evolve rapidly, placing a premium on leadership that understands both legacy radio and emerging platforms. Flowers is expected to play a key role in guiding MIW through that intersection, with an emphasis on growth, inclusion and long-term sustainability.

With deep experience, strong industry relationships and a track record of leadership, Flowers’ upcoming tenure positions MIW to remain a central force in shaping the future of radio leadership.
