A new player has entered the Syracuse radio landscape as Inner Harbor Media has officially launched Millennial Hits “87.7 The Spot” on WQSE-LD.

The station debuted Thursday afternoon, bringing a music mix centered on the biggest hits of the 1990s while sprinkling in select favorites from the early 2000s. The format targets listeners who grew up during one of music’s most diverse eras, blending pop, rock, hip-hop, dance, and rhythmic hits into a single presentation.

According to the company, listeners can expect music from artists including Backstreet Boys, Britney Spears, TLC, Nirvana, Mariah Carey, Pearl Jam, Dr. Dre, and *NSYNC, along with other familiar names that helped define the decade.

The station officially signed on at 3 p.m., opening with Quad City DJ’s “C’mon N’ Ride It (The Train)” before rolling into its new music position. Local monitoring by CNYRadio later in the day found the station featuring a wide range of artists including Counting Crows, Ace of Base, Melissa Etheridge, New Kids On The Block, Justin Timberlake, and more.

Leading the new venture is veteran broadcaster Sam Furco, who serves as Vice President and Station Manager for Inner Harbor Media. In announcing the format, Furco said the company sees a strong opportunity to connect with listeners who continue to embrace the music of the ’90s and early 2000s.

The launch expands Inner Harbor Media’s Syracuse portfolio, which already includes Country 92.1 The Wolf, Classic Hits 103.9 The Dinosaur, 96.5 The Beat, and Fox Sports 1490. The addition of The Spot gives the company another distinct music lane while targeting a generation that continues to drive significant radio listening and advertiser interest.

Operating on 87.7 FM through low-power television station WQSE-LD, The Spot becomes the latest example of an FM6 signal being utilized to deliver radio programming to listeners across the market. (Wikipedia)
