Longtime iHeartMedia Mansfield and Marion Market President Margie Tasseff will retire June 1, bringing to a close a remarkable 39-year run with the company and one of the most respected leadership careers in Ohio broadcasting.
Tasseff began her radio career in Akron at WDBN and WNIR before joining WMAN and WYHT in Mansfield as an account executive in 1987. Over the years, she steadily rose through the sales and management ranks before eventually becoming Market President for Mansfield in 2011. In 2021, she also assumed oversight of the Marion cluster.
Under her leadership, the Mansfield and Marion operations became known not only for strong local programming and community involvement, but also for deep relationships throughout north central Ohio.
In an official iHeartMedia release, Tasseff reflected on her nearly four decades with the company, saying, “Spending 39 years with one employer is truly uncommon.” She added that she was “deeply proud” of the impact the stations made through local radio and community partnerships.
iHeartMedia Area President Matt Bell praised Tasseff’s impact on both the company and the communities she served, calling her “a trusted leader, mentor and advocate” whose presence “will truly be missed.”
Beyond broadcasting, Tasseff has remained heavily involved in community organizations throughout the region, including service with the Buckeye Imagination Museum and the Ohio District 5 Area Agency on Aging.
Her retirement marks the end of an era for iHeartMedia’s Mansfield and Marion operations and closes a career defined by longevity, leadership, and local connection.
