KiddChris Signs Off in Cincinnati, Closing Another Chapter in One of Radio’s Most Unpredictable Careers

If radio careers were written like scripts, nobody would believe this one.

Controversial.

Unfiltered.

Wildly successful.

Occasionally turbulent.

And almost always entertaining.

After 14 years waking up Cincinnati on 102.7 WEBN, The KiddChris Show has officially come to an end, closing one of the longest-running morning show chapters in the station’s modern history. The show had been a fixture on WEBN since 2012, following KiddChris’ arrival after the format flip at Project 9-6-1 (WKLS) in Atlanta.

For longtime radio fans, though, Cincinnati was only one stop in a career that rarely stayed predictable for long.

Long before Philadelphia.

Before Portland.

Before Atlanta.

Before Cincinnati.

There was Wichita.

That’s where many broadcasters first discovered Christopher “KiddChris” Foley’s unmistakable style.

He initially worked nights at Rock 95.1 KICT before crossing the hall to Power 93.9 KDGS, eventually taking over mornings. He also spent time on KANR, helping establish himself as one of the Midwest’s most talked-about personalities before moving west to Sacramento.

Those Wichita years helped shape the radio personality listeners would come to know across the country.

From there, the résumé only became more colorful.

Sacramento.

San Antonio.

Philadelphia.

Portland.

Atlanta.

Then Cincinnati.

Along the way, KiddChris built a reputation as a host who never seemed interested in playing it safe.

Sometimes that approach created memorable radio.

Sometimes it created headlines.

His career included national attention during his Philadelphia years before ending abruptly after a controversial on-air incident involving a parody song. He later rebuilt his career with successful runs in Portland, Atlanta, and ultimately Cincinnati, where WEBN listeners embraced his irreverent style for more than a decade.

And maybe that’s what makes this departure noteworthy.

Whether you loved his style or changed the station the moment he came on, KiddChris was never background noise.

He made people react.

He sparked conversations.

He built loyal listeners.

In an era when personality-driven radio has become increasingly difficult to sustain, that’s no small accomplishment.

As for what’s next, neither KiddChris nor iHeartMedia has publicly announced future plans.

That leaves plenty of questions.

Will he resurface on another station?

Launch a digital-first platform?

Lean further into podcasting?

If history has taught us anything, betting against KiddChris finding another microphone probably isn’t the smartest wager.

Because careers like his rarely follow a straight line.

They zig.

They zag.

They surprise.

And somewhere out there, another audience may soon discover what listeners in Wichita, Philadelphia, Portland, Atlanta, and Cincinnati already know:

When KiddChris is on the air, ordinary radio usually isn’t part of the plan.
