X1075 Begins Its Final Las Vegas Chapter As Beasley Moves The Format To 1079

A significant piece of Las Vegas rock radio is about to change addresses. Beasley Media Group is preparing to move the programming of X107.5 KXTE onto 107.9 KVGS, beginning a temporary simulcast at 12:00 a.m. Monday September 14 as the company prepares for the eventual transfer of KXTE to K Love Inc.

The move gives Beasley a way to preserve the X107.5 programming and audience relationship before ownership of KXTE changes hands. Carlota Gonzalez, who serves as Program Director and midday host, confirmed that KVGS will begin carrying X107.5 programming as Beasley transitions the rock and alternative brand away from the 107.5 signal.

For Las Vegas listeners, this is not merely a technical shuffle. KXTE has long occupied a distinctive place in the market as a rock and alternative outlet, and moving that identity to 107.9 allows Beasley to keep the brand alive even as the original frequency heads toward a different future.

The transaction itself is part of Beasley’s previously disclosed $8 million agreement involving KXTE in Las Vegas and WNKS in Charlotte. Beasley told investors in its most recent quarterly filing that it entered into the agreement on July 31 and expected the deal to close during the fourth quarter, subject to FCC approval and customary closing conditions.

The Las Vegas transition also highlights how valuable established radio brands can remain even when the underlying frequency changes. Beasley currently lists both KXTE 107.5 as Alternative Rock and KVGS 107.9 as Adult Contemporary among its Las Vegas properties, meaning Monday’s simulcast will effectively mark the beginning of a major identity change for KVGS as the company protects the X brand and its audience.

For now, both frequencies will carry the same programming while the sale process moves toward completion. Once K Love takes control of KXTE, the long-term future of 107.5 will belong to its new owner, while Beasley’s rock strategy in Las Vegas will continue on 107.9.

This is the kind of frequency move that can look simple on paper but carries real weight in a market. A signal is changing hands, a heritage brand is being protected, and one of Las Vegas radio’s most recognizable rock identities is preparing to wake up on a new dial position.
