Another major Bay Area radio transaction is set to reshape the FM dial.

K-LOVE Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire the 94.5 FM license currently carrying Bay Country (KBAY) from Connoisseur Media in a $2 million transaction. Once the deal receives regulatory approval, K-LOVE will add a third full-power FM signal serving the San Jose market, further strengthening its presence in Northern California.

While the frequency is changing hands, the KBAY brand isn’t disappearing.

Connoisseur Media says it will retain the KBAY-FM call letters, branding, and intellectual property, with plans to relocate the Country format to another signal within its Bay Area portfolio. That means loyal listeners can expect Bay Country to continue—just at a different place on the dial.

The sale comes only weeks after Connoisseur completed its $10 million acquisition of Bonneville’s San Francisco radio cluster, adding powerhouse brands including KOIT, 99.7 NOW, KBLX, and KFOX to stations it already owned throughout the South Bay and East Bay.

Rather than simply growing for growth’s sake, the company continues refining its portfolio by concentrating resources on strategic markets while repositioning assets to maximize long-term value.

In a statement released by Connoisseur Media, CEO Jeff Warshaw said the company was approached by K-LOVE about acquiring the 94.5 FM frequency to expand its Christian radio service in San Jose. He added that Connoisseur was able to structure the transaction while preserving the KBAY Country brand for listeners.

This transaction tells two stories at once.

For K-LOVE, it’s another investment in expanding its ministry footprint within one of California’s largest media markets.

For Connoisseur Media, it’s another example of an aggressive strategy that has included acquisitions, divestitures, and portfolio realignment as the company continues reshaping its presence in major markets.

One frequency is changing ownership.

One Country brand is changing addresses.

And the Bay Area radio landscape continues evolving.
