A familiar voice is stepping into one of the most important dayparts in Kansas City radio.
Steel City Media’s KMXV-FM (Mix 93.3) has elevated Mallory Kay to afternoons, pairing her with longtime personality Dave O for weekday drive.
The move places Kay in the 4–6 p.m. window, a high-profile shift that reflects both her growth on the station and her connection with listeners. Station messaging around the change leaned into personality and excitement, teasing the announcement before confirming that Kay would be joining Dave O for the new afternoon lineup.
Kay transitions from nights, where she had been a consistent presence hosting the station’s evening programming. Her run in that slot helped build familiarity with the audience and positioned her for the jump into drive time, where personality, pacing and listener engagement carry even greater weight.
With the shift, evenings also get a refresh. Marissa, a Kansas City native, has been brought in to take over weeknight duties, adding a local voice to the lineup and continuing the station’s emphasis on market connection.
The adjustment signals a strategic recalibration for Mix 93.3, reinforcing its focus on personality-driven radio during key listening hours while continuing to develop talent from within.
