Seattle Radio’s Morning Shuffle Gets a Northwest Twist as Ellen Tailor Returns to The Wolf Alongside Aaron Crawford

Audacy’s Country outlet 100.7 The Wolf officially kicked off a new era in mornings Monday as “Ellen & Aaron” made its debut on the station, bringing together familiar Seattle radio roots and a heavy dose of Pacific Northwest personality. The move can be verified through Audacy station materials and company platforms beyond industry trade reporting.

The new morning pairing reunites listeners with Ellen Tailor, a name longtime Wolf fans already know well from her earlier run at the station between 2011 and 2017. Since leaving radio, Tailor expanded her media résumé in television and digital strategy, including work with Seattle television outlet KCPQ-TV and Straight Arrow News. Her return gives the station a recognizable local voice with deep Seattle ties and an understanding of the market that can’t exactly be downloaded from a consultant’s laptop at corporate headquarters.

Joining her is Aaron Crawford, a Northwest country artist already familiar to Wolf listeners through the station’s “Cascade Country” program. Crawford has built a strong regional following as a touring musician while also becoming one of the louder cheerleaders for the Pacific Northwest country scene. Pairing a market veteran with an active touring artist gives the station a combination of radio experience and real-world country credibility that feels intentionally local in a time when many stations are drifting toward cookie-cutter programming.

According to comments published through Audacy channels, Tailor described the move as less of a return and more of a creative next chapter, while Crawford called the opportunity an honor and praised the station’s environment and connection to Northwest listeners.

Meanwhile, veteran programmer and personality “Captain Ron” Koons remains attached to the show as Executive Producer, giving the new morning lineup another layer of continuity for longtime Wolf listeners.

The launch also continues the ongoing evolution of Audacy’s Country brands nationwide as the company leans harder into recognizable local personalities and regional identity. Seattle has remained one of the more competitive and personality-driven Country battlegrounds in the western United States, and The Wolf clearly appears ready to double down on community connection instead of simply tossing another playlist into the atmosphere and hoping listeners stick around through the commercial break.

Drew Bland, who oversees the brand, said via company statements that the chemistry between Tailor’s established connection with the audience and Crawford’s local stage presence made the pairing a natural fit for the station’s next chapter.

For Seattle radio fans, the move also carries a little nostalgia mixed with fresh energy — which, honestly, is probably the sweet spot every Country station in America is trying to hit right now.
