The wave of staffing reductions across ESPN has now reached one of New York sports radio’s most recognizable personalities.
Bart Scott is departing ESPN New York (880 WHSQ) as part of broader company-wide workforce reductions announced by ESPN. Scott’s exit also ends his run as one of the station’s midday hosts after several years on both local and national ESPN platforms.
Scott joined ESPN in 2020, quickly becoming a regular voice on New York sports radio alongside Alan Hahn. Their partnership moved between the local lineup and the national ESPN Radio network before Scott returned to New York full-time. Since the beginning of 2025, he has shared the midday show with Chris Carlin.
Before arriving at ESPN, Scott built a successful broadcasting career following his standout NFL tenure with the Baltimore Ravens and New York Jets. He appeared as an analyst on CBS’s The NFL Today and was part of WFAN’s high-profile Carlin, Maggie & Bart afternoon show, which launched during Mike Francesa’s brief retirement.
While Scott is leaving the station, Chris Carlin is expected to remain in the midday timeslot as ESPN New York evaluates its programming lineup.
