Midwest Communications Taps Chad Taylor To Lead Peoria Programming Operations

Leadership changes often signal the next phase of a station group’s evolution.

That’s the case in Peoria, Illinois, where Midwest Communications has selected Chad Taylor as its new Operations Manager, while also handing him programming responsibilities for 104.9 The Wolf (WXCL) and Mix 106.9 (WSWT).

Taylor steps into the role following the recent departure of Fritz Moser, who relocated out of state after leading the cluster.

His new responsibilities extend well beyond two stations.

As Operations Manager, Taylor will help guide programming strategy across Midwest Communications’ Peoria portfolio, including WMBD News/Talk, 93.3 The Drive (WPBG), KZ 102.3 (WKZF), Oldies 102.7 Super Hits, and Freedom 95.9 (WIRL). The appointment places one executive in charge of overseeing a diverse lineup that spans Country, Adult Contemporary, Classic Hits, Throwbacks, News/Talk, and Conservative Talk.

Midwest Communications described Taylor as a leader with a strong vision for station growth and a collaborative management style, citing both his programming experience and ability to help drive future success across the cluster.

The move reflects an industry trend that’s becoming increasingly common.

Today’s Operations Managers are expected to do far more than schedule music or coach talent. They oversee multiple brands, coordinate digital strategies, strengthen local content, mentor on-air personalities, and help stations compete across every platform where audiences consume media.

For Midwest Communications, this isn’t simply filling a vacancy.

It’s an investment in leadership across one of the company’s key Midwest markets.

As the Peoria cluster begins its next chapter, Chad Taylor now takes the controls of one of the market’s most diverse collections of radio brands.
