SiriusXM is making a major play for sports fans with the introduction of a new standalone subscription designed specifically for listeners who can’t get enough of live games, hometown voices, and around-the-clock sports talk.
The new SiriusXM Sports Pass package will be available for $5 per month, bringing together an extensive lineup of exclusive SiriusXM sports channels, national sports networks, local sports radio stations, and live play-by-play coverage into one affordable subscription. Existing SiriusXM subscribers will continue to receive the same sports programming as part of their current packages, while Sports Pass creates a lower-cost entry point for fans whose primary passion is sports.
The new offering features 16 exclusive SiriusXM sports channels, including dedicated coverage of the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, NASCAR, Formula One, college athletics, golf, soccer, fantasy sports, and more. Subscribers will also receive programming from major national sports brands, including ESPN Radio, FOX Sports, NBC Sports Radio, Westwood One Sports, and VSiN, along with access to 23 Audacy-owned sports stations from markets across the country.
The package also includes SiriusXM’s extensive portfolio of live play-by-play broadcasts, giving subscribers access to professional and collegiate sports throughout the year. Whether it’s football season, baseball’s pennant race, March basketball, hockey, racing, or golf’s biggest tournaments, Sports Pass is designed to keep fans connected wherever they are.
According to SiriusXM, today’s sports fan spends significantly more time consuming audio than the average American, making audio one of the most important ways fans stay connected with their favorite teams, personalities, and leagues. Sports Pass is intended to bring all of those experiences together under a single, easy-to-access subscription.
The launch also reflects a broader industry trend as media companies continue developing specialized subscription products aimed at highly engaged audiences. Rather than asking consumers to purchase large entertainment bundles, companies are increasingly creating focused offerings centered around individual passions such as sports, news, music, or podcasts.
For SiriusXM, Sports Pass represents another strategic investment in one of audio’s most loyal audiences. Sports fans have long demonstrated a willingness to follow their favorite teams, leagues, and personalities across multiple platforms, and this new subscription gives them a streamlined way to keep everything in one place.
